Clinics and Services

We provide general medical services and relevant advice to patients who are registered at the practice during surgery hours. We also can provide a service for those visiting Malvern requiring medical assistance as Temporary Residents.

Besides the services of our Doctors, we also have our own Practice and District Nurses as well as Health Care staff. Appointment scan also be made for the appropriate treatment with them.

The surgery provides full facilities for disabled people. For any special needs please consult the reception staff.

Diabetic Services
The surgery-based Diabetes Clinic is run by Dr Mather and the surgery's a Practice Nurse. The Clinic provides the vast majority of care needed for patients with all types of diabetes mellitus. This includes insulin initiation and other types of care that in the past were provided in hospital-based clinics. The practice is able to offer this type of service as a result of Dr Mather's experience working in the Diabetes Centre inWorcester for 10 years and partly due to the upgraded skills of Helen Heritage.

Bookings for this clinic are arranged by Mrs Sarah Tudge and any queries should be directed to her.

Breast Awareness
Our nurse practitioner is trained to teach female patients how to check for any changes in their breasts. If you notice any lumps please arrange to see your doctor as soon as possible.

Cervical Smears
Cancer of the cervix can be prevented and all female patients between twenty–one and sixty-four years are advised to have regular smear tests. These are important because they can detect early signs of disease, which is easily treated. A call and recall system is operated by theHealth authority to remind you when your test is due. Please ask at reception for an appointment.

Child Vaccinations
Book with Practice Nurse via Reception.

Family Planning
A full range of contraceptive advice is available including – 'the pill', coils and injections. Emergency contraception is also available. Please ask at reception for details.

Foreign Travel
Please see our above travel page. We are a registered Yellow Fever vaccination centre. - SERVICE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

Health Promotion
Our Nurse Practitioner and Practice Nurses perform health promotion clinics. You can make an appointment at reception for any of the following:

Smoking cessation, diet and exercise, hearing tests, well person checks, blood pressure screening, and travel advice. We also have disease management clinics for asthma and diabetes which are run by Doctors, the Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurses. If you would like more information about these services please ask at reception.

Influenza
Each year during October and November a programme of influenza vaccinations is carried out. It is strongly recommended that patients with diabetes, chronic lung diseases (including severe asthma), chronic heart disease, chronic kidney disease and patients with reduced immunity take advantage of this vaccination. Please check our website during September to check if you are eligible to receive a free influenza vaccination. If you are not eligible for a free influenza vaccination you can obtain one for a charge at local chemists. Our reception staff are instructed to redirect to the chemist those patients who are not eligible.

Minor Ailment
Our Nurse Practitioner and our Senior Practice Nurse run these services. These appointments are for coughs, colds, sore throats, earache and rashes etc. Please book via Reception.

Minor Surgery/Cryotherapy
This is by arrangement with the doctor – please be aware that there are waiting lists for both these services.-  SERVICE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

Primary Care Diabetes Service
Undertaken by Nurse Practitioner and Dr Mather. Book with Nurse Practitioner via Reception.

Well Person Checks
